COLON - Polyp

Description
This shows caecum and ascending colon (identified by the ileo-caecal valve lying in the lower left-hand corner of the specimen). There is a large polyp, with multiple nodules on its surface, arising from the mucosa. The histological appearance were those of haematoma, and the patien showed multiple gastric polyps; clinically, there is evidence of a protein-losing enteropathy.
